Like many Iron & Resin jackets, the Cruiser Jacket has a tailored fit to it, which we really dig. Because of this, we highly recommend ordering your true size. For example, someone here that is 5'11" + 160lbs wears a size medium in this jacket and it fits great. We've been really stoked on our Shelter Series waxed canvas for the past couple years. We first launched this rugged outerwear collection in September 2020 and the Cruiser Jacket was a core piece in that collection.
The Shelter Series is made with our heaviest 14.75 oz canvas and waxed with a proprietary blend of beeswax, plant-based waxes and oils making it built to withstand the elements and the test of time. It's truly a line of outerwear that will serve you well for many years to come.

The daily details, like convenient work duty snap buttons and a two-way front zipper, were not overlooked. It's these small details that set a jacket apart from the rest. Easy-on-and-easy-off features are what we call them. We use a heavy Talon® zippers for the front entry of Cruiser Jacket, gusseted shoulder for maximum mobility, and an array of external & internal pocket options on all of these jackets.

"I was hesitant about sizing because at 5'7" and 130lbs, I usually need an XS, but the SM fits perfectly. I usually don't really layer as I have plenty of heavier jackets for cold weather, but I could probably get a warmer layer under this. This will most likely become one of my go to jackets this fall. On a side note, I just had an issue on a separate order and the customer service rep took care of it and made everything right."
"My rain jacket ripped and led me to search for a replacement, but thought I’d take the opportunity to explore other candidate options other than a typical rain jacket. I then discovered the world of waxed jacket. I bought a lighter 10 oz. Waxed Field jacket that’s versatile for 3 seasons, but wanted something a bit more robust while fitted. This cruiser jacket seemed to be the a good candidate, but Iron & Resin’s “End of Summer Sale” offering a 50% discount left jackets in only size small (and most reviews suggested sizing up since the jackets ran small). With the additional first time 15% customer discount further bring the jacket to $128, it was a no brainer to give the jacket (with a built in waterproof membrane) a try. WOW!!! After unboxing this jacket, I could tell this jacket was built to last. I’m on Day 3 of breaking this jacket in, and it’s already molding against my body to fit like a glove. I’m 5’8”, about 153 pounds and roughly about 13% body fat. I thought this jacket only had enough room for me to only wear a T-Shirt underneath, but I was able to layer my Filson Moleskin and zip up this cruiser jacket comfortably and plenty of room to move around. I’m happy this jacket is not boxy and can easily pair this with some nice jeans for a night with my wife. I can tell this will be my everyday jacket during the colder weather, as well as anticipate wearing it open over a tee during the early spring, or autumn season. Overall, my expectations are way beyond satisfied, and I can’t wait to test this in the rainy season to see how it performs! I’m very glad I took the plunge to give this jacket a try."

"This jacket is exactly as described, except it looks better in person. As stated, it’s a very tailored fit. I’m 5’11”, 180lbs and the Large fits perfectly. I can layer a hoodie under it but it verges on being snug at that point. If you plan on wearing multiple layers I would recommend sizing up for optimal comfortability. I personally love how tailored the fit is. The double zipper and gusseted shoulders are great features. I also love the weight of the jacket, it feels very secure and durable and comfortable. I can’t wait to see it 5-10 years from now."
"I hae owned several waxed canvas jackets ans miat if not all have been good, both in material quality and construction. This time I was looking for something that was similar, black, and would be great for rides ans commuting on my HD Fat Bob. I have found the jacket! This thing is perfect, water and wind resistant, and built with bikers in mind. Plus, its less expensive than a similar style leather that will not have the same hydrophobic properties as the heavier waxed canvas. Fit is great and the gussets on the back allow for a wider range of motion when gripping handlebars. Again, I have done my due diligence in trying to find a great waxed canvas jacket and this is it."
