you may have heard us mention duck canvas before, or maybe even have one of our past pieces. we've used cotton duck, like our Union Work Pants or Mechanic Jacket, for all sorts of daily trades. changing oil on bikes. camping. nailing up james hardie lap siding on the house. sanding fiberglass. you name it. cotton duck is so damn versatile. and it truly breaks in like a dream fabric. one of our favorites by far.
in our latest iteration we decided to add our Buffalo Flannel to the interior lining to provide some extra warmth and protection from those harsh winter winds.
cotton duck, aka "cotton duck canvas," is a heavy, plain weave, cotton canvas that's been woven really tightly together to make one solid material to work with. remember those lawn chairs that had that stretchy cross-weave-looking-type-pattern? it's exactly like that (called warp and weft). it's that extremely tight weave that creates an incredibly dense, very durable, fabric that has been a proven choice for many ranges of workwear. and we dig it.

"This jacket is ahhhhmazing! Worth the price, top notch quality a timeless look and durable for any weather!"
"Putting on this jacket for the first time I could feel the quality. This is a piece that will last longer than me. I’m 6’2” and 185 with relatively long arms. The large fits me perfectly."
"your pictures of this jacket don't do it justice. a major brand of work wear has a jacket that is the competitor to this that looks a bit thicker and more rugged in photos, whereas in photos yours looks a bit more designer-ish, a more form fitting stylish piece. BUT to my wonderful surprise, when this arrived it's very solid and rugged, with quite handsom and warm liner fill. but while the style is pretty much as rugged and thick looking as that other famous brand, yours does have a bit more of a fitted design, which is a huge plus. also, super important, is the length of the arms. . . while not excessively long, they are long enough you could ride a bike and they'd still cover your wrist like a cool biker jacket, which they have a similar design to. the amazing logo on the back makes this the best non-leather jacket i have, and about as good as my best leather. congrats on a super piece!"
"I recently purchased this jacket and im impressed with the quality. The material feels premium and the construction is solid. it fits comfortably and feels durable for everyday abuse. Im 5-10 180lbs size large, you can wear with shirt or hoodie underneath."
"I was looking for a heavy canvas shell with flannel lining with room to layer. Must have visited 20 to 30 sites over a two week search. It’s weird (or I’m weird) but putting this jacket on feels like im putting on a broken-in leather jacket. Im already saving for another. Different color, no lettering this time & if possible a tad shorter at the waist ( hard to find ) I’m only 5-7. It’s a bit pricey for me , but I know I’ll be getting another iron & resin jacket."
"Iron and Resin has been popping up on in my socials a lot and I eventually bought their Clark jacket which I liked. I wanted something in black and this one and the mechanical were the only jackets they carry in black, but the mechanical is out of stock. Resorted to this service jacket. When it came I was blown away from the build of it. From the red flannel inside to the heavy duty zippers. The embroidered logo looks great even black on black. Currently my favorite jacket out of I&R. One thing I hope they add in the future is a second cuff button so you can adjust it to your liking."
"Great jacket. Sizing is about the same size as other brands. Fabric is soft and smooth for duck canvas. Would suggest adding a second set of snap buttons on the cuffs for more adjustability."
"Another great example of I&R apparel. Definitely recommend."
"looks great fits perfect size just for me"
