Cruiser Jacket - Raymond Waxed Canvas

$ 239.20 $ 299.00
Description

This is the "second generation" of one our most highly rated waxed canvas jackets. With all the same core features as the original 'Shelter Series Cruiser Jacket' the only difference of this one is the waxed canvas used for the outer layer. Made with a beefy 14.75oz Raymond waxed cotton canvas that out the bag is much more free-moving than the Shelter series. This allows for a shorter break-in period all while still channeling the same durability and properties of waxed canvas.

The Cruiser Jacket is without question one of our (and our customers) favorites. Made with a heavy duty Raymond 14.75 oz waxed cotton canvas exterior, heavy duty front entry Talon® zipper + button snap storm flap, and lined with our custom Klamath Flannel pattern blanket. Kind of makes it seem like we've checked-off all the boxes for this outerwear piece. We've been living in this jacket since the temps have started dropping and the break in on the heavy waxed canvas exterior is nothing like your favorite leather jacket or raw denim. It won't be long before this jacket molds to your body and bears the marks of the adventures you throw at it.

Wash & Care

Caring for Hand-Knit Cotton:

Cotton is more forgiving than wool but still benefits from gentle handling, especially in hand-knit form where the stitch structure is more open and delicate.

  • Hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent, or use a machine’s delicate/hand-wash cycle in a mesh laundry bag.
  • Cotton can handle slightly warmer water than wool, but keep it under 40°C to preserve color and shape.
  • Lay flat to dry just as you would with wool. Cotton knits can stretch when hung wet.
  • A cool iron on the reverse side can refresh the fabric if needed — avoid ironing directly on textured stitches.

"Solid jacket, as advertized. I wish i bought a size smaller as it seems too big for me and there are no returns. But thats on me i guess."

Sweet Cruiser

"My wife will be very glad when I shut up about my new super jacket from iron and resin. The jacket is sweet as hell, and I'm trying to break it in quick. I've been wearing it for hours while I was teleworking. . The style the feel the look. Everything is excellent. The only caveat I would have is it is a little tight in the chest for me. Bad. I love everything else about it."

Exactly what I hoped for

"Love the blend of insulation and shell in this jacket. Love the heft. Exterior pockets are in just a touch of an awkward position - but that could just be relative to my arm length. Fantastic jacket. Fit is great for a single layer. Might be a little small for a second layer."

Amazing!

"I am 6' tall, 215lb, athletic, and I normally wear a L or XL. I'm glad I scanned reviews to see others of similar size ordering XXL, so I ordered an XXL for the first time in my life. It's a perfect fit, and the quality is even better than I hoped. Amazing jacket. Heirloom quality, really. I'm stoked."

Raymond Cruiser - Field Tan XXL

"I bought this jacket for my BF. We went to the store located in Ventura. I originally was going to buy him an XL but the chest was a bit too tight when zipped up and the sleeves were short when tried on. My BF is 6”2 and 220lbs. I insisted he size up and try on the 2XL. The fit is flawless. The sleeves are perfect length, he feels comfortable wearing the jacket opened as well as zipped up or buttoned. A wonderful find!!! Thank you Iron and Resin."

Really liking this jacket!

"This is my first I&R product, and it definitely meets my expectations. The material looks great (mine is tan) and feels thick, and I really like "motorcycle" cut and fit, which is more on the snug side, and not unnecessarily roomy. Regarding durability, only time will tell, but it appears to be well-constructed."

This jacket is awesome. I

"This jacket is awesome. I like the heavy weight and it is worm. The buttons on the cuffs don't stay very well is my only complaint. The first jacket I bought was a medium and it was to small so I returned it and got a large. The customer service is poor so I gave them a 1 star and they didn't post it something to remember. This time I'm happy with the purchase and very pleased."

I have in black and

"I have in black and brown color of this jacket and it's very versatile. Lot of pockets and build quality is top class. Design is super stylish and timeless to wear for decades. Fabric material is so durable and thick with features of warm liner. Quite heavy compared to my other many jackets. I am 5'7" 160lbs small size fit just right with one t shirt layer. My latest favorite brand is Iron & Resin and bought so many from them and never disappointed. Thank you I&R."

Top notch quality

"I own three other I&R jackets, the waxed Nautilus, the M65 and the Scout all of which are top quality and design. The Raymond Waxed Cruiser is no exception. For fit I am 5’9. 5” 177 lbs 41” chest and the large fits like it was made for me. I can easily layer a thick flannel shirt underneath. Any more than that and you may want to consider sizing up but I prefer a more fitted look. It’s a little stiff out of the box but one night of wear loosens it right up. The beefy zipper is a little sticky at first but you never have to worry about it failing. It’s a two way zipper which helps while sitting as the length is a bit longer than the trucker style Scout. My only regret is that I didn’t get another color while they were on sale."

Rugged Heritage Meets Real-World Mobility

"I give the Raymond Waxed Canvas Cruiser Jacket a solid 5 out of 5 stars. After researching the fit, I decided to size up from my usual medium to a large, and it was the perfect call. For reference, I have an athletic build with broad shoulders and wanted enough room to layer a sweatshirt underneath. The fit is spot on—even with the added layer, the arm articulation is excellent. It is rare to find a jacket this heavy and rigid that still offers such great mobility. The olive color is fantastic and offers a really rewarding break-in process. Now that it’s starting to settle, the canvas has developed a texture that almost looks and feels like suede. Living in the Northeast, I’ve already put the warmth to the test while shoveling the driveway; the temperature regulation is very predictable, and I haven't overheated or felt uncomfortable once. What really impresses me is the versatility. The cut remains flattering even without a sweatshirt underneath, making it a true multipurpose piece for different seasons. I also want to call out the lined pockets—they are incredibly soft and positioned exactly where you’d want them. The visuals of this jacket perfectly match the function; it’s a high-quality piece that feels like it’s built to last a lifetime."
